Mansfield Timberview High School Senior Portraits: Lexi

Lexi is a Senior at Timberview High in Mansfield.  She is an actress and we had a great time acting out several characters during her session this month.  Here are a few favorites from her session.  We are booking for Senior Portraits now.  We know it sounds like a sales pitch, but DO NOT wait until the last minute to do your senior portraits.  Our schedule will fill up in the later part of the semester.  We do have some special offers going that will save you some money if you come in before Spring Break.  Call us to get the details.

Midlothian High School Band SMU Performance

Last night we were asked to photograph the Midlothian High School Band's Wind Ensemble prior to their performance in Caruth Auditorium at SMU. We made portraits of the individual sections, as well as an overall photograph before they played. We stuck around to catch a few individuals during the performance. We will be adding these photos to our Order Section and making them available for purchase this afternoon. Thanks to the MHS Band and Mr. Doran for inviting us to the event.

Midlothian High School Senior Portraits - Sterling

Sterling came in last week for his senior portraits. He's a baseball player, formerly a good pitching prospect, until an elbow injury last season took him off the mound. He's working hard to come back this season and contribute to the MHS Baseball team in other ways. He has a great spirit, some crazy green eyes, and a really cool truck ! Check out a few of our favorites.

Happy First Birthday to Tatum!

Since purchasing the studio in January of last year, Tatum is my first baby that I have had the privelage of following from before she was born to her first birthday. I photographed mom and dad when Tatum was just a belly bump. And now look at her! Growing like a weed and as cute as can be. Tatum's mom and dad took advantage of our Annual Baby Plan Collection and brought her in for her 5th session this year. She powered through a cake and her images are at the top of my list so far this year! Happy Birthday Tatum Blaine!

The Best Images from 2009

Watch our favorite images of 2009...

Thanks to all of our clients who made these images possible.  Without you trusting us to capture your lives, none of this would be possible.  Thanks to all of the event planners, event hosts, coaches, administrators, parents, and families who worked tirelessly to create the opportunities and back stories for all of the images you see here.

Its a little hard to read, but the video begins with a quote from my favorite photographer.  "Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter".  Enjoy the show.

Coming SUMMER 2010 - NEW LOCATION !

We will soon begin construction on a new studio in Downtown Midlothian.  This afternoon, we purchased a lot at the corner of Main & 6th Street.  Over the next few months, watch our new studio take shape when you drive down Main St in Midlothian.  We are VERY excited about the space and look forward to an open house later this year.  Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

Pam Martin's Top Dogs - America's Got Talent

If you watched America's Got Talent on NBC this past season, you saw Pam Martin and her crew of Top Dogs. Pam is the best dog trainer I've ever seen, and this week she put on a show for the camera at her Training Center in Garland. We took a big group photo and then she pulled out all of the stops with each individual dog. Here she is with all seven of her performing crew, including Viva (on her shoulder), who was her featured performer on the hit TV show. Pam made it to the Top 40 performers last summer on AGT. If you are looking for a step up in your dog training, go see Pam at www.topdogdallas.com. She teaches obedience, agility, freestyle dancing, flyball and more.

Doug and Kristin - Wedding Reception, Winfrey Point

Doug and Kristin had a much delayed wedding reception this week.  Doug is in the US Navy and recently completed a Tour of Duty.  During his leave, he and his wife Kristin celebrated with friends and family at White Rock Lake on Winfrey Point.  The sunset, the water, and the beautiful bride made for great photos.  The reception included the most difficult photo I've ever taken.  Since I am a proud Aggie, and these were a group of equally proud Longhorns, I put my pride aside as they all saluted me.  Thanks to Yvette Audrain of Premier Special Events for putting together this event.  The candles and tables were beautiful and the event went perfectly on time, as usual.  We have weddings booked throughout the year, so please contact us for wedding photography availability.

New Year's Eve Party Event Photos

On New Year's Eve, my good friend, Yvette Audrain of Premier Special Events, asked us to drop in on a party she put together and take a few table shots. I thought they were very pretty and worth of posting here to the blog. If you are hosting a party, check in with Yvette at www.premierspecialevents.com and she can make things easy, as well as spectacular. Then she'll call us to come and photograph it for you. Enjoy and Happy New Year.

Happy Anniversary - to US!

Today is the one year anniversary of the NEW Ivey Photography.  January 2nd, 2009 marks the day that I purchased the business from Janie Ivey Whitter.  This time of year, most people look back and think "What could have been?".  I am looking forward and wondering "What will be?".  Of course, we made so many great images this past year, it is hard to not look back (best of video coming).  Along the way, we made a few mistakes, and its good to take those lessons and look forward.  We hope all of our blog readers and clients (new and old) are happy with the change in ownership here at Ivey.  Not that we don't miss Janie and David, but we feel like we've added much needed life and energy to the business.  Photography is a difficult business in that you have to reinvent yourself for every client.  Each person wants to feel like they are getting something unique.  I think we do a good job with the task of creating, but still sticking to the classic portraiture and values that Ray Ivey would want.  We're proud to begin year two as the NEW Ivey Photography.  We have many goals to reach, many new clients to gain, and many past clients to retain.  We hope you'll come along with us for the ride that will be Ivey 2010.  Happy New Year everyone!
